Faraday Lecture Theatres
Wilson Mason were appointed by the University to design and implement a scheme to update their main lecture theatres: Faraday, Frankland, and Cavendish over a phased period of refurbishment. The scope of works included a detailed analysis of the current teaching spaces and an ‘Identity Review’. This review was undertaken alongside an ‘ideas study’ which jointly sought to demonstrate to the client the various ways to improve facilities, both aesthetically, functionally, and in terms of DDA compliance.
Following detailed consultation, the design delivered a timeless approach to the interior and improved disabled access. The seamless integration of new audio and visual equipment created a contemporary and successful solution for the delivery of teaching at the University.
