Bicentenary Project gains Planning Permission
The University of Manchester’s commemorative bicentenary project the Old Quad has secured planning permission.
The project will mark the bicentenary of the University of Manchester, celebrating 200 years of education and innovation.
The design created by the team of Wilson Mason, Iteriad, WML Consulting, RPS, AA Projects with Project Managers Recom re-imagines the space to provide a contemporary quad for the 21st Century, whilst complementing the surrounding Victorian buildings which include the University’s Whitworth Hall and the Manchester Museum.
The design will provide an enhanced ‘green heart space’ with a focus on biodiversity and sustainability from which the world class architectural surroundings can be viewed.
