Planning Approval for St Peters
Planning approval has been successfully secured for St Peter’s Church of England J, I & EY School in Birstall, West Yorkshire.
Part of the Department for Education’s school rebuilding programme (SRP), this new build two-storey school building will entirely replace the current 1960’s building and supply an additional nursery provision.
The new school building will provide a high quality and significantly improved learning environment with accessible and inclusive indoor teaching and classroom spaces and outdoor recreational and sports areas to support children’s education, health and well-being.
A range of sustainable installations to achieve ‘Net Zero Carbon’ in operation include solar panels, air source heat pumps, heat recovery ventilation and high level thermal insultation, which will help to reduce the school’s energy consumption, environmental impact and running costs. Other sustainable innovations include a green roof, flood risk attenuation tanks and on-site biodiversity gains.
The build will start on site in October and is due to complete August 2024.
