A First for Owen

Congratulations to Wilson Mason’s Part I student Owen Harwood, who gained a 1st in his BSc (Hons) Architecture from the University of Salford.

Owen’s potential was spotted at the university’s end of year Architecture Degree Exhibition as the quality of his exhibition work stood out and he came highly recommended by his tutor. Owen’s final year dissertation evaluated the effects on the design of social housing, following World War II, of the brutalist modernist architecture of Unité d’ Habitation, by Le Corbusier and the wider impact this had in subsequent housing and living space design.

Owen has been an enthusiastic addition to the team and is looking forward to gaining invaluable practical experience across a variety of commercial projects. Contemplating his experience to date Owen remarks, “I was keen to take up my placement year at Wilson Mason in part due to their comprehensive staff mentoring and development programmes, and also the breadth and diversity of projects I will gain exposure to, which will provide me with a solid foundation with which to continue my architectural studies in the future.”
