Health & Digital Centre Completion

Following a £9+ million investment – jointly funded by Bury College, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and the Department for Education, the state-of-the-art Health and Digital Centre at Bury College has recently reached project completion.

Wilson Mason acted as Architect and Lead Designer for this purpose-built new build further education facility, housing an immersive digital environment, flexible IT and Esports suites, bespoke laboratory, simulated hospital ward and replicated domestic home learning environments. These sector leading facilities enhance the College’s specific industry led course provision and support continuing employer demand for skilled health and digital staff.

By developing a thorough understanding of the clients brief and end-user requirements, Wilson Mason addressed the design specifications and materials, ensuring the end product had a resilience in installation, with lower maintenance and longevity in use, providing a robust and durable solution.

The developed design brief includes external landscaping providing a tranquil and secure outdoor garden space, protected from the surrounding environment through fencing, trees and improved planting. Creating a green oasis within an urban context for students to relax in and enjoy.
