Planning secured for Beacon ‘B’

Bury College have received planning permission for work to their Beacon ‘B’ Building. This is the first part of the College’s work which is part funded by the Department for Education (DfE) through their ‘transformation’ funding.

The project, which is currently out to tender, is a full refurbishment and repurposing of the existing building to provide contemporary and much improved industry specific teaching and training facilities for the Hair & Beauty Department.

This will help to attract students and enable them to to gain ‘hands-on’ practical experience as an essential learning element of the course, to develop the relevant confidence, knowledge and technical skills required to pursue a successful career in the hair and beauty industry, whilst providing the College with the additional commercial benefits from a modernised and extended on-site salon.
