John Lewis Retail Fit-Outs

Of the hundreds of intervention projects Wilson Mason have undertaken on behalf of John Lewis, the largest and most complex involved their Oxford Street Flagship store.

An extensive phased retail refurbishment was carried out across all floors which entailed complex infrastructure and support space work. The first ever John Lewis foodhall was introduced as well as a radical new circulation strategy and striking lightwells capped with innovative ETFE roofs.

Amongst the key achievements of these retail fit-outs was the progression of refurbishment works in a phased programme whilst the store remained trading. Wilson Mason sympathetically addressed very disparate constructions often of a sensitive or historic nature.

‘Wilson Mason LLP have worked on some of the most complex recent store refurbishment and new space fit out projects within John Lewis, providing seamless architectural support in delivery of store design concepts and balancing the needs of construction teams and store trading operation.’ Jeremy Thornton, Manager Architecture JL, Property Services, John Lewis Partnership.
