The scope involved the creation of a new hanger building at Blackpool Airport for a private operator and also to provide separate hanger space for a third party. The two main hanger spaces are separated by a central terminal building which also contains a first floor restaurant as well as the main areas of support accommodation including check in, arrivals lounge, baggage check in, security, operations and maintenance offices.

To reflect an aesthetic which mimics the age of flight and is sympathetic to the Blackpool site, an art deco style was adopted for the articulation of the main terminal building which has also been carried through into the banding proposed for the hanger elevations and the terminal interiors.
