Wilson Mason are lead consultants in the refurbishment and extension of this locally listed 1940’s office building for Shell Global Solutions. The brief for this project is to create a mixed use building, housing a restaurant and technology centre as well as open plan office space for 100 staff. We have been working in close co-operation with the local planning and conservation officers as well as the 20th Century Society to provide an innovative solution that respects the existing structure whilst providing a modern working environment. The self supporting, lightweight glass pavilions sit within the courtyards created by the existing building and contrast with the elegant surrounding brick structure, creating a contemporary building without compromising the aesthetic of the original structure.
