As part of the Project Unity framework appointment the University wished to enhance the setting of most of the buildings on campus. The brief was to refurbish a courtyard within the Faculty of the Arts building complex. The space is largely defined by a listed building and was of poor quality.
The upgrade to this Courtyard provides a breakout space for the students from the lecture theatre projecting into it. The design incorporated wheelchair access to the breakout area via a new ramp. 3 options were generated to provide a variety of solutions for the University to choose from.
