Manufacturing Training Facility
BAE Systems are supporting the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership (LEP) in developing the Lancashire Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Enterprise Zone on a surplus footprint at the BAE Systems Samlesbury site. As part of this development, a new training facility has been established. Wilson Mason were appointed to provide architectural services and to act as Lead Consultant on this project. Wilson Mason also undertook the development of the masterplan for the Enterprise Zone.
The facility provides a study environment for early careers, higher or further education training, and continued professional development. The project also provides offices and welfare facilities to support the management and occupation of the development which includes conferencing and exhibition spaces for hosting events and awareness programmes for schools.
Workshop accommodation has been created to support fabrications, welding and fitting, carbon composite fabrication, machinery, and all avionics and industrial laboratory activities.
