Invibio

The project involved the re-configuration and extension of an existing 1960’s structure on the Hillhouse International site in Fleetwood to provide high quality processing and research facilities suited to bio material development activities.

The design intent for the new building was to create a visually impressive development that conformed to the technical nature of the client’s core business activities and the medical background.

The scope of works included a Class 10,000 clean room (achieves ISO7 as defined within ISO14644-1), the creation of a pilot plant facility for the development of surgical implants, as well as the provision of a 14 tonne injection moulding facility for the development of prototypes.

To support the work undertaken within the building, a standard laboratory module was developed to meet the requirements of different user groups. This flexible approach to space planning was applied in parallel to the supporting administrative accommodation.
