Institute of Psychiatry
A new Education Hub within the University’s Institute of Psychiatry has been built which provides modern, well equipped facilities for the Institute’s growing student and teaching communities.
The brief for the development expressed an overall improvement to the Institute of Psychiatry’s image and identity. In order to achieve this, a new front entrance was constructed as well as the reception area being ‘opened up’ to improve circulation. New brighter finishes and furniture, alongside the introduction of natural daylight, created a more open and welcoming building.
The Education Hub forms part of the continuing refurbishment programme for these University buildings. The new build Hub is comprised of a lecture theatre, seminar rooms, and social space as well as a refurbished entrance, reception area, and upgraded accessible facilities. The existing large 278 seat Wolfson Lecture Theatre was also renovated and the landscaping of the courtyard was improved.
