Providing the spine to UCL’s central campus, the buildings at Foster Court, Malet Place, and Torrington Place have undergone a process of extensive refurbishment and modernisation. The aim of the project involved the renovation of the buildings to bring them up to current standards for teaching and office space at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
In total, 6400m2 of refurbished and new-build space have been delivered over various phases, including works to a Grade II listed building and external landscaping. Through the minimisation of noise and disruption to agreed strict criteria, the existing departments were still able to function.
Many different types of spaces have been accommodated, including academic and administrative offices, seminar rooms, lecture theatres, common rooms, and specialised areas such as a spirit store, language laboratories, and film viewing rooms.
