New science laboratory suite opened
The new science laboratory at Lancaster Boys Grammar School has been officially opened by former pupil Professor Peter Dornan, a distinguished particle physicist.
Wilson Mason LLP worked closely with the client to provide a contemporary approach for the design of the new facility, which houses classrooms for Chemistry and Physics. Attached to the existing science facility, it was important to link the new extension with the surrounding context; aluminium windows and doors provide a modern appearance however the slate roof and brickwork ensures that the building works in harmony with existing building structures.
The science block project was identified as a requirement through the Education Funding Agency (EFA) feasibility process and has been designed in accordance with Education Funding Authority’s facilities output specification, implemented under local delivery.
